School Closure Letter From the Principal

Date: 03/13/2020

Subject: School Operations 3/16/20 – 3/31/20

Dear Our Lady of Victory Families,

Today, in conjunction with the State of California Health Department and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, it was decided to cease in-person meetings for schools and to begin a plan based on distance learning for the next two weeks. I understand the hardships that this may cause during this time however, I assure that this has been done as a precaution to avoiding the spread of the COVID – 19 Virus. Furthermore, I would like to share that at this point there has been no confirmed cases of COVID – 19 in any Archdiocesan school.

As a school, we began planning for the possibility this past Wednesday, but did not expect such rapid change. Therefore, we are asking for your patience as we work on Monday to finalize a plan and procedures. By Tuesday, parents will receive information from their child’s teachers via their preferred communication system of Remind, Class Dojo, or Website Email. We are working diligently to update our website during this time to make that a place where parents and students can be in contact with teachers. Each teacher can be contacted directly through the school website.

We ask for your prayers and patience during this time as the methods in which teachers will be available are still being finalized. We are working together with other principals and schools in our diocese to discover methods to best continue student learning. Our goal is to have this finalized by the end of the day on Monday to have ready for students on Tuesday.

Our faith in God is what is most important at this time and to remain vigilant about reminding our children of God’s divine plan for our life. As stated to our students, they are still ours,we still expect them to work hard and we will do everything we can to continue to serve them.We will provide updates as they come along.

Sincerely,

Arturo Jordan-Gonzalez, M.Ed
